Teachings of the Medicine Wheel

Sat February 21 & Sat February 28 9:30am to 5:00pm each day with Grandfather Rick McBride

$325 includes manual ($100 deposit due 2/14)

This two day, highly experiential workshop teaches the principles and concepts of what the ancient Native American Medicine Wheel is really about; a personal Life mirror and guide of exceptional accuracy. Each participant works a Personal Healing Wheel in the class. No previous knowledge of anything Native American is necessary to learn the Wheel and you will not find these teachings available in any of today’s’ popular literature. It includes a detailed 44 page manual and each participant works a Personal Healing Wheel in the class. Class size is kept small to maximize your experience and learning. Each point on the Wheel represents distinct qualities and spiritual characteristics. On those points, you'll place medicine helpers that you've chosen, at times for no obvious reason; just seems like the right animal/tree/gemstone, but you will soon see that the Spirits are guiding you. When the energies of the medicine helpers combine with the aspects of the point on the Wheel where they've been placed, a story emerges that will guide you, revealing the acquired traits or core beliefs that have previously blocked you. These are personal Healing Wheels. You will also learn about personal Free Form Wheels. The Medicine Wheel works because it reveals unsupportive core beliefs, pointing you in a better direction, anchoring that new awareness into your physical bodymemory. Some of the Benefits:

* Change mental patterns and emotional core beliefs that bring about disease before it manifests. Create mental and emotional conditions most conducive to healing the body. Create robust physical and mental health through raised self awareness, esteem, confidence and motivation. Discover and recast unsupportive life patterns, completely, finally, and

* Maintain emotional balance regardless of what is happening. It is emotional energy and memory that drives behavior, not intellect. If you want a better, more productive life, regardless of what is going on around you, this is the place to start. You will learn to work with yourself instead of against yourself.

* Learn your financial strengths, weaknesses, and blind spots. Issues of worthiness and selfesteem express themselves outwardly, most commonly in physical and emotional health, finances, and relationships. Your most important relationship is with yourself: Do you respond to Life, or react to it?

Rick McBride is mixedblood Tsalagi (Cherokee) who has walked the Red Road for over 30 years. He was named Cante Lute (Schan-
tay Loutuh) by the spirits through his sundance chief, which means Red Heart. He is a sundancer and has been traditionally trained and authorized to lead ceremonies, such as inipi (purification lodge), prayer with the Canunpah (Pipe), drum healing and so forth. He has been publicly teaching these ways for some ten years now. Workshops and lectures are one way to learn from the wisdom of Indian Country. Ceremony brings this knowledge to life. Combined, teaching and ceremony render practical guidance to everyday living. And so, Rick sees his role as that of "translator" of indigenous ways so that mainstreameducated people get the full benefit of these ways. It has taken him years of dedicated interaction with many Elders, as well as his activities as ceremonial leader to get to this place in his life.
